Check out our air fryer tofu! https://www.budgetbytes.com/air-fryer-tofu/ You can prepare the tofu that way and then toss in the sauce!

I’m vegetarian but usually not a huge tofu person and this recipe changed me. (Having a good nonstick pan to cook tofu with helped change me too lol.)

My photo of it looks even better than the example. It’s delicious and I’m gonna eat it over Napa cabbage.

Had to make a couple of minor alterations based on what I had on hand… flour instead of cornstarch and teriyaki instead of soy sauce. As suggested, I froze the tofu because the texture is just better for me. To press the tofu, my husband cut the block of tofu horizontally into thirds and pressed it.

In the end, it was quick and the tofu had great flavor. It was a little spicy, a little sweet and…drumroll please…CRISPY! My husband and I have tried a few different recipes over the years with so-so results but tonight we both agreed this was the best tofu we’ve made. I’ll buy cornstarch next time for a little extra crisp. This is definitely going to be a repeat recipe for us!
Thanks BB team! :)

Did you freeze the tofu after the excess water was drained?
